The Ukrainian Nuclear Insurance Pool is an association of resident insurers that have obtained a license in accordance with the established procedure under insurance class 13, as defined in Article 4 of the Law of Ukraine “On Insurance”, to carry out activities related to the insurance of liability of nuclear plant operators for nuclear damage that may result from a nuclear incident.
The Pool is a non-profit organization funded exclusively at the expense of contributions from its members and does not engage in entrepreneurial activities. The Pool does not form an authorized capital.
The purpose of the Pool is to coordinate activities of its members related to the insurance of liability of nuclear plant operators for nuclear damage that may result from a nuclear incident and to ensure financial security of such insurance.
The Pool may also coordinate other types of insurance activities of its members in the nuclear energy sector.

The competence of the General Meeting includes deciding on any issues related to the Pool’s activities.
All the members of the Pool shall have right to take part in the general meeting (Pool’s Statutes)
— Board of the Pool (hereinafter referred to as “Board”) carries out management of Pool’s activities in the period between general meetings. (Pool’s Statutes)
The Board consists of the Pool members officials elected by the General Meeting.
To assist the Board in exercising its powers, the standing committees have been established:
Financial Committee
Reinsurance and Claim Settlement Committee
Committee on Legal and Regulatory Issues
Audit Committee
Directorate is executive body that manages day-to-day activities of the Pool.
The Audit Committee supervises over the adherence of the Board and the Directorate of the Pool to Foundation Agreement, Statutes, Regulations and internal documents of the Pool.
